Obtuse Calculator

A triangle is three side polygons. Triangle is one of the important shapes in geometry.

Types of triangle

  • Equilateral triangle
  • Scalene triangle
  • Right triangle
  • Isosceles triangle
  • Acute triangle
  • Obtuse triangle

           In this article we shall discuss about the obtuse triangle calculator. A triangle consists of three sides and three angles. In a triangle angle is between 90 degree to 180 degree, such a triangle is called obtuse triangle.

To find area of the obtuse triangle = `1/2` * base * height

Obtuse Triangle Calculator:

                In obtuse triangle calculator you have to enter the known value after pressing the calculate button unknown value is calculated and displayed on a box. The diagram for obtuse triangle calculator as shown below.

Obtuse triangle Calculator

Problem 1:

Calculate the area of the obtuse triangle whose base is 8cm and height is 10 cm

Solution:

Area of the obtuse triangle = `1/2` * base * height

                        Base =8 cm Height = 10 cm

                        Area = `1/2` * 8 *10

                                 = 40 cm2

          The answer is 40 cm2

Problem 2:

Calculate the area of the obtuse isosceles triangle whose base is 6cm and height is 8 cm

Solution:

Area of the obtuse triangle = `1/2` * base * height

                        Base = 6 cm Height = 8 cm

                        Area = `1/2` * 6 * 8

                                 = 24 cm2

         The answer is 24 cm2

Problem 3:

Calculate the base of the acute isosceles triangle whose area is 144cm2 and height is 7 cm

Solution:

Area of the obtuse triangle = `1/2` * base * height

                        Area =144 cm2 Height = 7 cm

                        Area = `1/2` * b * 7

                        144 = `1/2` * b *7

                        B=`144*2/7`

                        B= 41.14 cm

The answer is 41.14cm

Problem 4:

Calculate the height of the acute isosceles triangle whose base is 6.3 cm and area is 102 cm2

Solution:

Area of the obtuse triangle = `1/2` * base * height

                        Base =6.3 cm Area = 102 cm2

                        Area = `1/2` * 6.3 *h

                        102 = `1/2` * 6.3 *h

                        h =`102*2/6.3`

                        h = 32.38 cm

            The answer is 32.38cm
